Collective unwraps Govan housing

  • Comment

[First look + project data] Collective Architecture has completed this competition-winning 79 home scheme in Glasgow for Govan Housing Association

The development is split into three blocks: a six-storey block with a new public square and a rooftop pavilion; a curved five-storey block linked to an existing stone tenement building; and a cresecent-shaped lower-density block featuring a mixture of four storey flats and terraced houses.

The Govan Gateway scheme sits at the edge of Govan Town Centre and provides a mix of 37 units for rent, 30 for sale and 12 for shared equity.

According to the practice, the project has been built from ‘a simple palette of materials… including a multi-hued brick, polished block and gold aluminium cladding’ to reflect the materials and colours in the surrounding buildings.
