Clissold Leisure Centre was choice of RIBA

In response to Ken Worpole's letter (AJ 17.5.01), the Clissold Leisure Centre project was selected for exhibition in the RIBA Competitions Gallery at Cube as part of the ace@cube rolling programme of projects initiated through the RIBA competitions system.

The exhibition was not initiated by Stephen Hodder but by the RIBA Competitions Office, which took up permanent residency at Cube's front-of-house gallery in October 2000 with the aim of promoting greater awareness of the competition process through showcasing designs of recent winners.

Currently on display alongside the Clissold project are the winning entries to the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter ideas competition. Forthcoming exhibitions include Warrington Arts Centre and Falmouth Maritime Museum.

Stephen Hodder has indicated that he would be only too delighted for the exhibition to show in Hackney in acknowledgement of the commitment to the project demonstrated by both the London Borough of Hackney and the community.

Ace@cube programme details available from RIBA Competitions Office, 6 Melbourne Street, Leeds, LS2 7PS.

Telephone 0113 2341335.

Louise Harrison, RIBA competitions officer
