Clients share the risks of innovation

Stuart Harmon's letter (he is obviously a client! ! ), concerning insurers paying for the millenium bridge repairs, misses the point. Assuming the engineer acted with reasonable skill and care, there is no reason to point the finger at the engineer and their insurers. Innovation means risk and clients share this.Unless we want buildings that have 'been done before', there will always be instances where they do not perform exactly as planned.
