After my 10 years in British architectural education (two working as a part timer at Bath and seven and a half in Plymouth as a full-time senior lecturer), and just before my resignation from Plymouth to join Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as an associate professor in the field of design and technology, I feel I have to write and let you know that the AJ has been my Bible for teaching detailing. Incidentally, this feeling was shared by many of my colleagues who introduced the AJ with no hesitation to students.
The isometrics you use have been a good exemplar for students as they make construction very clear and explicable. In fact, we have introduced this type of drawing to one of our courses as a final review requirement and students are doing quite well. A project that was ran by a colleague this year asked students to detail a building and present in an AJ format!
Congratulations, I am delighted with your effort. Keep up the good work.
