Finnforest Thermowood

BUILDING Dolphin Cottage, West Cowes, Isle of Wight

ARCHITECT 3s Architects

CLIENT Private client

PRODUCT ThermoWood cladding

CHARACTERISTICS The architect's brief was to use a natural cladding that was rustic but modern in appearance. Finnforest's ThermoWood cladding fulfilled the aesthetic requirements as well as providing a robust, waterproof skin to the exterior of the first floor

SPECIAL PROPERTIES ThermoWood is made from Finnishgrown European Redwood treated at temperatures up to 200¦C. The heating process makes the wood more durable and stable than traditional timber, which makes it appropriate to the harsh weather conditions of the building's coastal location
