Chipperfield unveils Southbank sculpture design

  • Comment

David Chipperfield Architects has unveiled this metal-coated, fabric mesh installation to sit in front of the Royal Festival Hall during the London Design Festival in September

The practice has teamed up with Arup structural engineers and glass specialists to create the sculpture using SEFAR fabric.

The material – which is black on one side and metallic on the other – is layered between two sheets of glass, creating a translucent and reflective surface.

Called Two Lines, the installation will be open to the public from 17 September to 16 October.
