Some 700 aircraft-design engineers and project staff are being kept comfortable thanks to the tempered air provided by more than 700 Trox multi-service chilled beams fitted in the £14 million office complex at Airbus UK's Filton site in Bristol. The MSCBs are shaped like aircraft wings to reflect the office's business, with 40 configurations covering beam sizes, one- and two-coil versions and parallel and in-series connections over the three floors of the building.
The units are linked to infrared detectors to activate air conditioning in the occupied areas.
