Cheeky images offer future planning hope

My heart stopped momentarily last week. It was at the image of a footbridge by Birds Portchmouth Russum and Techniker (AJ 30. 11. 00).

This gorgeous aberration links two school buildings at first floor level across a busy road.

Amazingly Newham planning department told the client to pull its socks up, get an architect on board and come up with a gutsy design solution. Not many planning authorities have such courage and vision.

I have not yet visited this stunning bridge, but I cannot say how much pleasure those cheeky, endearing images gave me.
