[FIRST LOOK + PROJECT DATA] Cartwright Pickard Architects (CPA) has completed the £46 million first phase of its Chatham Place development in central Reading
The three buildings, which form part of a larger £250 regeneration project masterplanned by the practice, house 211 apartments and penthouses including new keyworker homes.
A new pedestrian street runs east to west through the centre of the site, hailed as ‘an important first step in the creation of a new street pattern and urban structure for the area’.
According to the practice, the larch-clad interior courtyard is designed to contrast with the building’s hard ‘outer shell’ with its silver anodized aluminium facades and coloured glass panels.
