December 2000 saw the reopening of the former Pearl Assurance building on London's High Holborn as a 357-room, fivestar hotel. This opulent building, with its granite and Portland stone Grade II-listed facade and dark wood interiors, has been transformed by New World Hotels and architect TP Bennett.

Architectural ironmongery was specified and supplied by Yannedis, which chose to create new castings for brass pull and lever handles from an existing pull handle dating from 1914.More than 200 pairs of new unlacquered solid brass lever handles were produced for the hotel from these castings, and about 100 brass pull handles.
