This year's riba honorary fellows were awarded their certificates at Portland Place last week without the usual formalities - because Oscar Niemeyer couldn't come to London for the Gold Medal ceremony , where the fellowships are usually handed out. Alas, the great Dr Gavin Stamp was unable to be present. I hope he was not annoyed by his citation, which reveals exclusively that the good doctor writes for Private Eye! Terry Farrell managed to introduce himself to Professor Wu Liangyong, from Beijing, which is just as well, since the latter is one of the judges for the new Beijing opera house. Terry is shortlisted.
