Celebrating Rykwert: a day of architectural criticism

  • Comment

Some of the world’s leading architecture critics – including Kenneth Frampton and Phyllis Lambert – will discuss Joseph Rykwert’s six decades as a critic at the V&A later this month

The all-day Rykwert Symposium, entilted Critical Juncture: Architectural Critics at the Crossroads, will be held on 22 February and features contributions from Vittorio Gregotti, Robert Tavernor and Patrick Lynch.

The panellists will reflect on the Gold Medallist’s life and work - examining the state of criticism today in a changing media landscape and how it might reinvent itself for the 21st century.

The symposium is backed by CICA (Comité International des Critiques d’Architecture) and the V&A’s recently established Contemporary Architecture Design and Digital department.
