A - Z

Caspar, Birmingham The outcome of a design competition, this project is the first of several similar developments to be built around the UK.

Caspar 1 (City-centre Apartments for Single People at Affordable Rent) is located in Birmingham. The building has two parallel blocks, linked by central bridges and staggered angled bridges to each door. A conventional steel frame supporting precast planks, masonry cladding and prefab WC pods was eventually chosen on the basis of cost and programme.
