Docomomo was up in arms this week after the developer which claimed it needed to demolish the Brynmawr Rubber Factory went bust. Docomomo convenor Judi Loach said Brunswick had 'gone down the plughole' after a wreathlaying ceremony had taken place at the site of the listed building, whose domes have now all been razed. Now the previously untouched Boilerhouse building on the site is also under threat. 'In the light of what has happened to Lord Rogers with the Assembly, it really is the Wild West now, ' said Loach. Administrative receiver Ernst and Young in Bristol told the AJ that 11 separate companies relating to Cardiffbased developer and contractor Brunswick fell into receivership because of inadequate funds, with the loss of 125 staff.
