Broadway Malyan bags planning for Northwich proposals

  • Comment

Broadway Malyan’s £80 million Barons Quay development in Northwich, Cheshire has been given the green light

Chester Council said the riverside scheme, which includes a multi-screen cinema, a hotel, restaurants, bars and shops, would rejuvenate the historic town famous for its now defunct salt-mining industry.

Excavated since Roman times, the unstable mines were a barrier to growth until a £32 million stabilisation programme completed in 2007 cleared the way for development.

It is hoped that work will begin on site by autumn 2014 and be completed by the end of 2016.
