Brisac Gonzalez with Paris-based Antoine Regnault Architecture has won the competition to design a £28 million mixed-use masterplan in Paris’ 17th arrondissement

The duo beat emerging starlets S333 who teamed up with Tania Concko, Xaveer de Geyter with Muoto Studio and Michel Guthmann  with Charles Henri Tachon to win the high profile contest.

The winning scheme features 150 social housing units, a 3,200m² sport centre, a 3,600m² school and retail space.

The client, Paris Habitat requested the inclusion of two architectural practices per team.

Brisac Gonzalez’ and Antoine Regnault’s proposal is located in the western sector of a 54 hectare masterplan for the redevelopment of Batignolles’ disused railway yards.

In total eleven teams have been selected to work on the programme’s five sites. All participants will take part in design workshops over the next six months.

Construction is expected to begin in June 2013.
