A fully glazed £1.2 million footbridge by Powell-Williams Architects was opened in Oldham last week. The footbridge links pedestrians and cyclists from the Ashton Road area to the town centre, crossing the Oldham Way bypass and avoiding one of the worst accident blackspots in the Greater Manchester region. The 30m bridge was designed in association with consultant engineers Robert Benaim & Associates.
