Actor Simon Callow last night told the gala opening audience at Milton Keynes Theatre that architects Andrej Blonski and Michael Heard were to be thanked for the new cultural heart of this city.
As chair of Milton Keynes council's theatre Sub-committee, I share his view. Blonski and Heard have given us a landmark development that will be attractive to visitors, an asset to our area and will have low running costs, to keep ticket prices affordable.
Even if our city doubles to 500,000 population as hoped, I doubt if we will be buying another theatre - but I know who would be shortlisted if we did.
