The arb has suspended Gabriele Bramante from practice for four months for failing to pay more than £1000 to a fellow architect after a county court judgment. And if she doesn't pay up inside that period she will face further proceedings. Bramante, who failed to turn up for Tuesday's hearing, sent a fax saying she was contesting the court ruling and wanted a further adjournment - the case was first due to be heard last month. The case follows Bramante's alleged failure to pay Murray Denham £1,255 as ordered by Kingston County Court. She hired Denham as a subcontractor on a project between 1996 and 1997 but claimed that since she did not like his work she would not pay the bill in full. Denham sued her for the money last June, but has not yet been paid and the arb said Bramante had had more than enough time to settle any dispute through the court. Bramante disputes the findings, saying that she initially paid £1000 to Denham which he returned. She is waiting for an appeal date at Kingston County Court.
