Architects were out in force as usual. BDP, Sheppard Robson, EPR, Benoy, Broadway Malyan etc etc and most big practices not exhibiting had visitors doing the rounds.

Developer Andrew van der Meersch launched the third phase of Stockley Park at the show (AJ 15.3.01), designed by Lee Polisano of KPF, man in the hot seat over the Heron Tower.

American architects were much in evidence, including former SOM London head Robert Turner, now masterplanning mega-schemes for developer Chris Holloway in Paris;

and current London head Roger Kallman. I gather SOM has slightly restructured its global operation in four offices: San Francisco, Chicago, New York and London.

Kallman was presented with a plaque at the show, declaring him SOM's 'Director: Rest of World'.

Roger took this in his stride, as befits a gourmet who took the opportunity of dining once or twice at the Colombe d'Or, where he was staying!
