Bovis Awards missed the glass bridge

Having visited and enjoyed the architecture room at the ra summer show, it was with considerable interest that I read your coverage of the aj Bovis Awards for Architecture at the ra Summer Exhibition (aj 15.7.99).

The star of the show was without doubt the all-glass bridge by Thomas Heatherwick Studio, a startling idea engineered by Anthony Hunt Associates. Unit 22's model was outstanding and the lighting of the piece truly theatrical. This was indeed 'a real tribute to the model-maker's craft', if ever I saw one. So it was with disbelief that I found that the piece did not receive even a mention in your report - much less the award it would have richly deserved.
