Conservation in construction has been given fresh impetus with the launch of a South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) initiative aimed at increasing sustainability and biodiversity awareness in the building industry. Branded 'Building for Nature', the scheme will create a dedicated advisory service for the sector.

Key industry bodies including the Environment Agency, English Nature, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Housebuilders Federation and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association have thrown their weight behind the project.
