Bluffer's guides need facts not questions

  • Comment

As a fare-paying participant of one of Bingham's recent seminars, in which he roundly condemned the potential 'bluffers' of the hgc&r Act, I look forward to reading the correspondence between himself and Kim Franklin, who last week provided her own 'bluffer's guide' (aj 2.7.98).

Like all guides of its kind, I note that if offers the barest minimum of factual information, together with a massive helping of open-ended questions, to which the aspiring bluffer merely adds a sprinkling of half- remembered semi-truths and downright lies to frighten his more upstanding yet sadly ignorant opponent.
