BedZED, the zero-energy scheme for 82 homes and commercial space in Sutton, Surrey, is to open its first show home this weekend.

The homes use solar power and are CO2 emission-free. The project is due to be finished in late 2001. It was the brainchild of architect Bill Dunster and Arup's Chris Twinn.
