The in-crowd mutual digs are thriving I see (AJ 5.7.01), though Paul Hyett's advocating 'quotas' of work to small practices is no more sustainable than Will Alsop's inebriated, arrogant ranting from the bar, (I say, it is so impressive the number of exciting places 'Willy' can write from) that ALL work should go to so-called 'star' architects, presumably including himself.
Wow! Imagine how big his and Zaha's practices could be if they got ALL the schools, colleges and health centres needed!
Come off it, Will, you are only making yourself seem insufferably egotistical, and lacking in that essential quality of self-doubt and circumspection so necessary to a real architect. Steel yourself, get out into the provinces, take a little fresh air and accept that a lot of crap gets built in London, and not all beautiful buildings have to look like yours.
