The building is organised around a series of landscaped courts which relate to each of the three wards. A double-height corridor runs around each court giving access to the patients’ rooms which look outwards onto a private territory.
The communal areas lie between the courts and the entrance. These are very successful from an operational point of view but are tougher than the wards.
This building has been executed with rigour in all aspects, briefing, budget and design.
