Lord's £13.2 million Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport, South Wales, incorporates an unusual element - a medieval ship discovered during excavation of the site. After archaeologists discovered the timbers of the 15th-century ship, the design for the centre on the banks of the River Usk was radically altered to work around it.A glass floor above the ground floor gallery will allow visitors to view it from above as well as examine it from below. Construction is due to be completed by spring 2004.
