Austen allegro

astragal

A young journalist with an obsessive interest in anything to do with Austin has wreaked havoc with aj pages in recent months. Repeated coverage of a practice called Austin-Smith:Lord alerted staff some weeks after the event. She then claimed that someone called Austin Powers should be given a regular slot on the review pages. When questioned, she described the whole thing as 'silly', since she was only interested in Austen with an 'e' at the end. 'I do want to write a technical piece on austenite,' she averred. 'You know - it's a solid solution of carbon or iron carbide. It is normally stable only at high temperatures, but may be preserved at normal temperatures by rapid cooling. Just like me, really!'
