Astragal: Cooling off

  • Comment

Whoever said that trade between Britain and Chile would not suffer as a result of the Law Lords' Pinochet decision? A small riba visiting board party was packing for a trip to validate several Chilean architecture schools just as the decision came through. It rapidly unpacked, leaving the market for validating schools to other, less scrupulous, national institutes, and sparing us the sight of our very own Paul Hyett being chased down Santiago's main drag by a pro-general mob. Yet more evidence that architecture is nothing more than a continuation of politics, and where you may be hung, drawn and possibly sectioned.
