Assael Architecture director John Assael has delivered a stinging attack on architects' project management skills, describing their reputation in this area as 'appalling'.

He said that only 4 per cent of practices had received accreditation under the international quality management standards system ISO 9001, which his practice received this month. 'We were shocked to find that so few architectural practices had made the effort - so architects get what they deserve, ' he said. 'Surveyors, project managers and engineers deserve to squeeze out the architect.'
