Arup has appointed Robert Care as its new chair while announcing a series of other senior level appointments
Effective from 1 January, Care (pictured), with chief operating officer Alain Marcetteau, will head up the company’s UK, Middle East and Africa (UK-MEA) opeartions, while Greg Hodkinson has been appointed chair of the Europe division with Tudor Salusbury as his deputy.
Care was CEO and chair of Arup’s Australasia business for six years having delivered, it is claimed, some of the region’s ‘most iconic projects,’ including the Beijing Water Cube and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.
He said: ‘It is an honour to be able to take on the exciting challenge of leading Arup’s largest geographical region. I have the greatest admiration for the work that Alain Marcetteau and John Turzynski have done in leading this part of the business, and look forward to working with them to build on this in the months and years ahead.’
The company was reorgranised into 5 sub-regional groups on Wednesday (1 December).
