The Arts Council of England has published what it calls 'radical' restructuring plans in an effort to become more flexible, cut red tape and generate efficiencies.

The document, Working Together for the Arts, explains how the newlook organisation will combine the Arts Council and the 10 Regional Arts Boards (RABS), leading to annual savings of between £8 million and £10 million in operating costs. These savings will be channelled into arts programmes, said Arts Council chairman Gerry Robinson.
