John Bell has been appointed to the £32,000 a year post of senior architecture officer at the Arts Council of England. The former University of Westminster lecturer and member of the London-based f15 design practice will lead a new architecture and built-environment team managing events such as June's Architecture Week. His team will also have responsibility for public artwork. He succeeds Alicia Pivaro who is now installed as the director of the riba Architecture Gallery. Bell's recent projects include design consultancy on the upgrade of Tottenham Court Road and underground station and graphic treatments for the Money Zone in the Millennium Dome.
