Architecture TV on the way as Europeans sign accord

  • Comment

Trouble at the Big Top will be shown on BBC2 at 21.30 on 9, 16 and 23 December, and 3 January

A cable TV channel devoted solely to architecture could be on the cards if an idea from the Institut Francais d'Architecture (ifa) comes to fruition. The idea came from ifa director Jean-Louis Crohen, who last week attended a conference in Paris where a new network of Architecture Centres across Europe was created. This will formalise relationships between different centres through joint publications, exhibitions and public events and link websites. It will also help in creating conditions for lobbying for European funding.

The French Ministry of Culture, which funds the ifa, is keen to develop the network's role in promoting quality in architecture. The French tv idea will also spread the message.
