Architectural Review seeks new Editorial Assistant

  • Comment

The AJ’s sister publication, The Architectural Review, is looking for a full-time Editorial Assistant to join its small editorial team at its global headquarters in central London

Since The Architectural Review was founded in 1896, it has striven to place itself at the vanguard of architectural culture and production. Yet even through the long perspective of our own history, it is clear we have reached a critical moment for architecture. For this reason the October edition of the magazine relaunches the AR to tackle these issues more rigorously.

The Editorial Assistant will join the AR at this very exciting time in its history. The successful applicant will have a crucial, strategic role in implementing and sustaining our ambitious editorial vision, working across both our print and online offerings.

This job would ideally suit a Part 1 architecture graduate who has strong organisational skills, sophisticated computer literacy and an evident interest in writing. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has insight into architectural culture, an ability to think quickly and creatively around the many challenges that the job entails - and all this achieved with humour and aplomb.

To make an application, please send a CV (on no more than 2 sides of A4) and up to five images of your design project (up to 5mb in total). Your covering letter - no longer than 350 words - should include why you think you would add value to the AR; and a short critical reflection on your own project work stating why it is relevant (or not) to 21st century architectural production.

Please send this to areditorial@emap.com by Friday 14 October. Interviews will take place the following week.

Salary: depends on experience, but competitive.

A digital edition of the magazine can be found on YUDU (password: AROctober2011)
