The 150 largest architecture practices are losing £15 million a year through poor project accounting, according to software suppliers.

They say if architects can identify and manage their three least profitable projects more effectively, they could add up to £100,000 to their profits. BCT Business Systems, which provides project-management software, said that better control of the timing of client invoicing and improved tracking of expenses will help make savings.
