Archigram founders Peter Cook and Colin Fournier

  • Comment

Archigram founders Peter Cook and Colin Fournier have beaten off competition from Zaha Hadid, Co-op Himmelblau, Morphosis and Hans Hollein to scoop the commission for the new £26 million Kunsthaus in Graz, Austria. Their design for the art gallery consists of a single rounded mass with a plastic laminate skin which is partially translucent. A number of 'eyes' thrust out from the animal form to give natural light to the top floor gallery. Two glass structures, one at the top of the building and another at ground level, provide restaurants.
