'The foremost architect practising in Ireland in the twentieth century, ' is how the Google search engine (see AJ 24.2.00) summarises this bit of the Archeire site. Slightly confusingly the last bit of text in this entry on Michael Scott actually reads 'Scott was a lousy architect; his judgement was pretty good but his ideas were pretty poor.'

Archeire is a group of websites relating to Irish architecture and it claims 150,000 page accesses a month and 6000 subscribers to its competitions newsletter. There are various chat centres - one recent thread was about Kevin Roche's design for Spencer Dock in Dublin, his home town.

Usual Yes-he-is-No-he's-not-grasping standard of discussion. There's a jobs page - depressingly half the people applying for jobs got no reply. All human life . . . Still that's mere carping. This is a fine site, elegantly designed, though a tad slow.
