Anderson Waterproofing's flatroofing insulation and waterproofing system proved its versatility when it was used for both the roof of shops and the floor of a terraced walkway. Caledonian Village, a new housing and shopping centre in Edinburgh, was designed so the roof of the shops could be used as a terrace. This roof had to be waterproof to protect the shops below, and Anderson's system was chosen. The concrete deck was primed with a bituminous primer and a layer of Thermovent 3G applied. It was then fully bonded in hot bitumen, two layers of HT Elastomeric, sanded and protected by a geotextile filtration membrane.
