At the outset of this presidential election you suggested that we should work to ensure a 'clean campaign'. It never occurred to me to do otherwise and I was therefore surprised that you should feel it necessary to make such a suggestion.
I am all the more surprised to discover that your website continues to allege that I would allow 'non-architect professionals in other parts of the construction industry to use the RIBA suffix', some six weeks after my public denial of the claim.
As stated in my letter to the AJ (26.10.00) I have never made such a suggestion. Indeed I have, as you know, said I would oppose such a proposal. The allegation is absolute nonsense.
You really should not use your website, over which you maintain sole editorial control, to pedal such misinformation. To do so amounts to nothing more than dirty tricks.
Why not concentrate on accurate information about yourself and refrain from issuing information which you know to be incorrect about your opponent? Come on Alex, keep it clean!
