An architect's life doesn't begin at 40

letters

I have been unemployed since the age of 38, seven years ago. I took the opportunity of redundancy to do an MSc in Development Practices at Oxford Brookes, and have subsequently gained a City & Guilds qualification in Autocad under the government's Training for Work programme. I have also kept up to date technically. However in spite of getting interviews (20 last year and 12 this year), no one has offered me a job.

Incidentally: my cv can be found on the Internet at http:// freespace.virgin.net/leslie.barker.

Leslie Barker, Wembley, London
