AMSTERDAM GETS BOOKISH

The City Council of Amsterdam has launched an international competition to design a new public library. Located near the city's Central Station, the 40,000m 2building will be the biggest public library in the Netherlands and will incorporate offices shops and a restaurant. The council is looking for practices with the ability to blend public and commercial functions. The closing date for applications is 6 May.
