I scanned your letters page in the expectation that someone would correct Clyde Malby's mistaken assertion that there should be an RIBA award for clients.
I see now that the mistake has been compounded by Bryan Avery's letter (AJ 12.2.98). To put the record straight, all RIBA awards are given to clients, contractors and architects.
Indeed, in 1998 there is to be a 'Client of the Year' award. For those of us who have presented the RIBA awards, the pride of the contractors is only surpassed by the joy and excitement of the client, especially if it is their first adventure into the world of commissioning an architect.
