AJ120 #=93: Child Graddon Lewis Architects & Designers

  • Comment

27 employed architects, 30% female architects, =86th position in 2014

For Child Graddon Lewis, planning has been crucial to the past year. As demand grew for all its services, it spent time planning how it would continue to grow the practice. It recruited largely through word of mouth, with colleagues inviting their friends to join the firm. Whereas the practice’s retail work has always extended across the British Isles, its residential and mixed-use projects had been largely confined to the core area of London, but in 2014 existing clients invited it to work in other areas, such as Leeds and Manchester. As a result, the practice has opened an office in Leeds and will open another in Manchester shortly. In London, it is completing a research project to understand the true development capacity of brownfield sites in Zones 3 to 6.
