AJ120 #=88: Holmes Miller

  • Comment

28 employed architects, 18% female architects, =71st position in 2014

At first glance, it would be easy to pinpoint the transformation of Hampden Park to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games as Holmes Miller’s greatest success of the last year. However, the architect credits its roll-out of BIM (Autodesk Revit) across its Glasgow office as its major success. It is also currently looking to establish a joint venture company in China. The practice has continued to deliver quality schools for local authorities, including the £1.9 million Kirkmichael Primary School for South Ayrshire. Despite falling some 17 places on the AJ120, Holmes Miller’s total fee income has increased to £3 million and staffing levels remain steady.  The practice believes the industry needs to work collectively to raise fees in order to meet the rise in staffing costs.
