AJ120 #77: Formation Architects

  • Comment

32 employed architects, 41% female architects, =99th position in 2014

Formation Architects has rocketed up 22 places just one year after joining the annual league table for the very first time. Celebrating the recent renewal of London’s imposing Grade II*-listed Dudley House, the Angel-based studio is looking ahead to ‘sustaining controlled growth’ with a focus on ‘maintaining turnover and profit margins’ during 2015. The next 12 months will be a landmark period with Formation becoming an employee ownership trust and relocating to new offices. Key upcoming projects include a £16 million residential-led redevelopment of Cambridge City Football Club’s former grounds – which recently won planning – and a £5.75 million housing scheme in Hackney. The studio’s conversion of the former Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea is now also on site.
