36 employed architects, 22% female architects, =68th position in 2014
The practice has enjoyed its ‘most successful year on record,’ says chairman John Assael. In 2014, the west London firm designed and delivered more than 2,500 homes and is set to move to a new, bigger studio to house its growing workforce. The 65-strong outfit has become a market leader in the private rental sector, based on years of international research into build to rent. This acumen helped the practice add the title of AJ120 Business Pioneer of the Year to a wealth of other, recent industry gongs including the highest ranking for an architect in the Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For. So what is the biggest challenge for the next 12 months? ‘Managing significant growth without damaging our values and culture,’ concludes Assael.
