AJ120 #=63: Farrells

  • Comment

37 employed architects, 43% female architects, =61st position in 2014

Farrells grasped a nettle in 2014 by tackling that issue for every signature practice – succession.  Transforming itself from a limited company to an LLP and introducing new partners has had a positive impact on perceptions of the firm and its work, according to design partner Russ Hamilton. ‘The challenge for us is converting the positive response from the market into new projects,’ he adds. Despite its structural change, the prominence of founder Terry Farrell has certainly not diminished, given his Farrell Review and seat on a new housing design panel, both for the government. Farrells also enjoyed project success here in the UK, such as winning planning for two huge London schemes – Convoys Wharf in Deptford and its masterplan for Earl’s Court.
