With offices in Birmingham and London, this 90-strong practice’s main areas of expertise are residential, commercial and masterplanning. The firm’s BREEAM Excellent-rated 280,000ft2office development at One St Peter’s Square in Manchester’s civic quarter for Argent is already clocking up award nods. In neighboring Salford, meanwhile, the firm is working on the first phase of the Salford Central masterplan, which includes a mix of six-storey flats, townhouses and small-scale retail units. Other significant projects include the recently completed visitor centre at the National Arboretum in Westonbirt for the Forestry Commission. Back in its native Brum the practice has won planning for a new £8.5 million centre for national deaf blind charity Sense.
