AJ120 #57: John Robertson Architects

  • Comment

41 employed architects, 20% female architects, =82nd position in 2014

In 2014, John Robertson Architects completed a comprehensive overhaul of Bush House in Aldwych, former home of BBC World Service. The project capped off a good year for the London-focused practice, which grew from 61 to 90 staff. Other major projects in the pipeline include 33 Central, a large speculative office development in the City. However, its rapid growth has presented challenges, namely finding new staff with the necessary levels of experience and skill while fees lag behind wage inflation. Over the year, John Robertson Architects says it will grow its interiors studio, which
it sees as a key opportunity in the London market. Through development of BIM and technical residential design skills the practice will also look to win business in the housing sector.
